When it comes to hair extension, it doesn't limit oneself to choose only between synthetic or human hair. In fact,
there is more than that. Hair extensions come in varieties
starting from how they are prepared down to the unique technique being used
during the attachment.
By far, it is the attachment method
that is the trickiest and controversial. Due to the number of techniques or
methods one can choose; it just leaves all the girls, ladies and women out
there questioning and wondering as to which one is indeed the best and safe.
But, then, which one really is?
Two among the methods are namely,
hair extension clip-ons and sew in weave hair extensions are being widely used. Below are the
advantages and disadvantages of each.
Hair Extension
Among the different hair extension
attachment methods, the clip-ons are the most popular. It’s easiness in
attaching attracts a lot to opt for it because from the name itself, you just
have to clip it on.
Advantage
One of the benefits you can get is the
freedom to achieve any style whether to add more volume or thickness. Clip it
on any part of your hair to create a whole different look each day.
What’s more, it gives you the autonomy
to take them out whenever and wherever you want especially in times when hairdo
is not at all required like hitting the gym or just staying at home. With that,
you get the advantage of having a longer life span of hair extensions because
you get to take care of it more often when not in use.
Disadvantage
The only problem with clip-ons is the
time it takes to be removed and clipped on your hair. No matter how easy it is,
time just comes when it can already be a boring routine and can then be a
hassle.
Sew in Weave Hair Extension
Sew in Weave, on the other hand is a
total opposite. Instead of just clipping it on, a weave is created near the
roots to merge both your natural hair and extension hair and then, sewn
afterwards with about two or three to four wefts of hair to carefully secure.
Advantage
This is a better option than a
clip-on to those who feels “clipping and removing hair extensions” a hassle
giving more freedom to style just like your own natural hair.
Disadvantage
As mentioned, it would be just like
your natural hair. That also includes the treatment and regimen especially
behind the weaves. So when you are in the gym or just at home finishing
errands, expect for a greater hair treatment and management.
Then again, natural hair do grows
very often and consequently, the hair extension begins to drop making the plait
or weaves looser until you can feel it is no longer attached. This is why the
method is considered expensive. You have to go back to your stylist to get it
re-tied to still keep it in place. By the time, it gets matted, that is another
cost for a new hair extension.
